About Us

We're Emma and Kayla, otherwise known as the Kinni Chicks.

River Falls, WI is our home; however, that's not where our story started. We actually grew up together and spent years singing in choir and show choir.  Fast forward a few years, and somehow life brought us back together—this time with guitars, country music, and a whole lot more stories to tell.

Meet Kayla

If you've ever heard Kayla sing, you already know... the girl has a voice that can stop conversations mid-sentence. She's the powerhouse vocalist behind the Kinni Chicks and somehow makes those impossible high notes sound easy.

When she's not on stage, she's the Bar Manager at Max's Social House, where she keeps the drinks flowing and the regulars laughing. Outside of work, she's usually helping her fiancé with his moving business (yes, she lifts couches for fun) or she is spending time with family, friends, and her sweet dog. She knows how to mix dangerously good cocktails. If you've had one of her drinks, you probably ordered a second.

Meet Emma

Emma handles the guitar, sings, and is usually the one convincing Kayla that adding "just one more song" to the setlist is a great idea. By day, she's an Administrator and Marketing Assistant at Educate Pathways. By night (and most weekends), she's writing songs, chasing live music, and convincing Kayla that one more gig is a great idea.

When she's not performing, you'll probably find her out on the boat, planning her next trip, spending way too much time making social media videos, or finding any excuse to be outside. Music has always been her favorite way to tell a story—and luckily, Kayla's crazy enough to join her.

Why We Do This

We started the Kinni Chicks because we genuinely love playing music together!

Whether we're playing your favorite country songs, a few classic rock hits, or sneaking in one of Emma's originals, our goal is simple: create a night where everyone is singing along, dancing, laughing, and forgetting about work tomorrow.

We're not afraid to joke with the crowd, roast each other on stage, and make each other laugh so hard we almost forget the next verse.

Thanks for following along and supporting two girls who still can't believe people actually pay us to sing together.

We can't wait to see you at the next show!

How We Became the "Kinni Chicks"

People ask us all the time, "What's your band name?"

Well... after throwing around what felt like a million names (some were decent, some

were absolutely terrible), we kept coming back to one thing—we both love the

Dixie Chicks. Their harmonies and fun stage presence have always inspired us.

Then it hit us.

Emma's house—where we rehearse, hang out, and accidentally turn practices into hour-long conversations—sits right by the Kinnickinnic River. Around here, everyone just calls it the Kinni.

So we mashed the two together...

Kinni + Chicks = Kinni Chicks.

Simple enough, right?

Now the Kinni has become part of who we are. It's where we've spent countless evenings practicing harmonies, figuring out setlists, laughing, and asking, "Should we learn this song?" (The answer is almost always yes.)

Who knew a little river and two girls with way too many country songs on their playlists would turn into a band name?

And just like that, two friends, a river, and a love for country music became the Kinni Chicks. ♡
